Special Events and Fundraising Activities

The AAC hosts several fundraisers during the year to help support our programs. Below is a list of those events. To learn more about these events and how you can get involved, contact the Development Director at 256-536-4700, x 125.

Dining With Friends is an annual event held the first Saturday in May. Individuals across the North Alabama region host dinner parties for their friends and families to raise money for the AAC. Following dinner, party hosts and attendees come together for a dessert reception and silent auction. For more information about Dining With Friends, www.diningwithfriends.org

Every December, the AAC hosts Light Of Hope in recognition of World AIDS Day. Staff and friends of the agency purchase luminaries in honor or memory of individuals touched in some way by the HIV/AIDS crisis. The luminaries are placed around Big Springs Park in Huntsville the first Saturday in December. Last year more than 2,500 luminaries lit the park. To purchase a luminary for the 2007 Light of Hope, or to volunteer for the activity, contact 256-536-4700, x 125.

During the holiday season, the AAC sells Christmas ornaments to raise money for the organization. The ornaments are original each year, beautifully designed and incorporate the red ribbon, which has become the symbol for AIDS awareness. Ornaments are $12 each and are available by contacting the AAC office at 256-536-4700. Ornament sales begin in November. Visit our website for more information!
